Auraiya, Oct. 17 -- A 28-year-old woman and her five-year-old son were killed after being hit by a train in the Sant Ravidas Nagar area of Dibiyapur, police said on Thursday.
The woman, identified as Pooja, was three months pregnant at the time of her death.
According to officials, she had a heated argument with her live-in partner before the incident and was walking away from the railway station when she and her son were struck by the Amrit Bharat Express.
According to GRP (Government Railway Police), a memo from the train driver on Wednesday late night alerted them about a person being hit near the tracks. Upon reaching the scene, officers found the mutilated bodies of the woman and the child and sent them for postmortem examination.
