Jammu, Dec. 25 -- Christmas marking the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ, was celebrated on Thursday with religious fervour and gaiety in this region of the union Territory. All churches in Jammu city and its outskirts were decorated and illuminated. The rush of devotees continued since midnight.
Prayer meetings were held in various places of worship including the St Mary's Garrison Church, Gandhi Nagar, CNI Church Residency Road and St Peters Church.
Large number of devotees including children participated in the celebrations.
The members of Christian community attired in colorful dresses were seen hugging and exchanging greetings.
