Bengaluru, July 5 -- In a bid to contain growing factionalism within the Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Union Minister Pralhad Joshi held a series of closed-door meetings with rival party leaders and their supporters from Bagalkot and Davanagere districts.

Party sources today said Joshi interacted separately with followers of former MLA Veeranna Charantimath and MLC PH Poojar- two prominent leaders at loggerheads in Bagalkot- seeking to address their grievances and broker peace ahead of key electoral preparations.
