Mumbai, Jan. 14 -- Ahead of Makar Sankranti celebrations, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited has urged citizens to avoid flying kites near power transmission lines, citing serious safety risks associated with overhead electrical infrastructure.
Extending wishes of good health and happiness on the festive occasion, the power utility said the advisory had been issued in the interest of ensuring safe celebrations across the city. While electricity distribution in Mumbai largely operates through an underground network, the company pointed out that overhead transmission lines carrying power from outside the city are still present at several locations.
