Thiruvananthapuram, June 1 -- Power supply has been disrupted in several places for the last several days in Kerala due to the strong winds and rains that continued in the state.
About 81,99,992 consumers have suffered power outages. As many as 3,153 high-tension posts and 23,339 low-tension posts of Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) were damaged due to the strong winds and rains.
About 2,826 high-tension lines and 61,637 low-tension lines were snapped during the current monsoon period.
However, the KSEB claimed that electricity connections have been restored to 76,35,286 consumers so far. Total loss of KSEB due to rain-related incidents has been estimated at Rs 164.46 crore.
