Aizawl, Oct. 9 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that voters above the age of 85 and those with benchmark disabilities will be allowed to cast their votes via postal ballot in the upcoming bye-election for the Dampa assembly constituency, scheduled for November 11.

The constituency is located in Mizoram's Mamit district, which borders Bangladesh.

In a move aimed at making the electoral process more accessible, the state election department confirmed that these electors can use Form 12 D to apply for the postal ballot. Voters can submit their requests to the Returning Officer through their Booth Level Officers (BLO) within five days of the election notification.
