Mumbai, Dec. 16 -- Mumbai woke up to hazy skies on Tuesday morning as air quality across the city continued to remain in the poor category of monitoring platform, despite a forecast of clear and comfortable winter weather.

A layer of smog was visible over several parts of the city shortly after daybreak, leading to reduced visibility and a noticeable acrid smell in many areas. Early morning commuters, walkers and schoolchildren reported discomfort, particularly in low-lying and high-traffic zones.
