Hyderabad, Sept. 23 -- Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government, accusing it of looting the poor for the past eight years in the name of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Speaking at a media conference held at Gandhi Bhavan, he alleged that GST has been nothing short of "Gabbar Singh Tax," burdening the common people while sparing luxury goods.
"From the beginning we have been saying GST is Gabbar Singh Tax. It was brought only to rob the poor. Even coffins and baby food were taxed under GST. Has it done any good for the poor?" Ponnam asked.
