Siddipet, July 27 -- Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar lashed out at the BJP on Sunday, accusing the Centre of deliberately creating a fertiliser shortage to undermine the Congress-led state government.

Speaking to the media in Husnabad in Siddipet district, he alleged that the BJP leadership lacks basic understanding of rural issues, agriculture, and farmers' needs.

"The BJP state president doesn't even know where rural areas, agriculture, or fertilisers come from. Fertiliser manufacturing and allocation are under the Centre's control, not the states," Ponnam said.

He accused the Union government of discriminatory treatment towards Telangana.
