New Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan. 8 -- Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday raised key transport-related proposals for the State at the 43rd meeting of the Transport Development Council held at Bharat Mandapam here. It was chaired by union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.

During the meeting, the Minister submitted a detailed proposal to the union Minister seeking the establishment of a Driving Training and Research Institute (IDTR) in Telangana, sanction of Rs 175 crore under SASC for strengthening transport infrastructure, and clarity on proposed amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act.
