Patna, Nov. 6 -- Amid tight security arrangements, polling for first of two phased Bihar assembly elections began today at 7 AM during which 3.75 crores electorate are eligible to exercise their franchise to decide fate of 1314 candidates contesting in 121 constituencies of the state.

Polling will be held from 7 AM to 6 PM barring at some sensitive locations in Munger, Tarapur, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Manishi and Surajgarha where it will come to an end at 5 PM due to security reasons.

Sources of the office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said here that polling was in progress in all 121 constituencies of the state peacefully. Long queues were seen at booths where people were waiting for their turn to exercise their franchise. Women and young...
