Agartala, March 26 -- The ruling BJP has come under fire for making grand promises during Tripura Tribal Areas District Council (ADC) elections, with opposition parties urging the state election commission to take action against candidates accused of misleading voters through unrealistic assurances.

The CPI-M, a key opposition party, called on the commission to scrutinise and act against BJP candidate Padma Lochan Tripura, who is contesting from the Kathalia-Mirza-Rajapur constituency. The BJP candidate has announced an array of enticing pledges targeting voters in his constituency.
