Mumbai, Feb. 6 -- Breaking his silence, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that indulging in politics over the oath-taking of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar was "inappropriate and unwarranted".

In a statement, he appealed to leaders of all political parties to put an end to what he described as petty politicking over the issue.

Fadnavis affirmed that the controversy being created over Sunetra Pawar's oath was meaningless and being handled in a completely wrong manner. He said that everyone was attempting to derive political mileage from the situation, which was highly unfortunate.
