Chandigarh, Jan. 14 -- The annual Maghi Mela in Sri Muktsar Sahib turned into a major political battleground on Wednesday, with rallies by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) setting the tone for the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for 2027.

Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal launched a sharp attack on the ruling AAP, accusing it of "plundering Punjab" since coming to power.
