Bengaluru, Sept. 20 -- The Karnataka government's decision to revise service fees at 14 prominent temples has sparked a sharp political confrontation, with the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleging that the Congress administration is "targeting Hindu institutions and sentiments."An official notification issued by the Muzrai Department said the revised rates would come into effect on October 1.
The move covers 14 temples across the state, including Sri Yoganarasimha Swamy and Sri Nandi Teertha Swamy Temples in Bengaluru, Sri Vidurashwatha Narayana Swamy Temple in Chikkaballapur, Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple in Dakshina Kannada, and Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur.
