The accused have been identified as Akil (48), Laldhar Saini (40) and Shanu (28). Police revealed that the gang operated a network spanning Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad, funneling the stolen batteries to scrap dealers and e-rickshaw mechanics.

The breakthrough came on October 4, when a police team, acting on a tip-off about the illegal sale of such batteries, set up a trap near Kamla Market. Akil and Saini were apprehended as they arrived on a motorcycle carrying two stolen batteries.
