Chandigarh, April 21 -- The legal proceedings involving Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh have gathered pace, with a special team of the Punjab Police arriving at Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam, where he is currently detained under the National Security Act (NSA).
According to official sources, his NSA detention is scheduled to end on April 22. Law enforcement sources have confirmed that immediately after the expiry of this detention, he is likely to be formally arrested in connection with the February 2023 Ajnala police station assault case. Following the arrest, he is expected to be produced before a local court, where police will seek his remand to advance the investigation and initiate formal trial proceedings.
