Thane, Nov. 27 -- Police have closed an illegally operated game zone in Thane district and arrested three persons, including the owner, officials said on Thursday. The action followed multiple safety violations, police said.
Acting on specific information, police inspected the facility located on Chinchpada Road in the Kalyan area on Tuesday. During the inspection, officers found several minor boys and girls playing games on eight computers at the centre.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III) Atul Zende said the ground floor of the premises housed a closed private room that lacked lighting, ventilation, fire safety equipment and CCTV surveillance. He stated that the absence of these essential safety measures posed risks to visitors.
