Kolhapur, May 30 -- Kolhapur District police today released a woman who had been kept locked in a room and tied up with an iron chain in Rajarampuri area, a suburb of the city.
According Rajarampuri police, a woman, who identified as Sarika Sali (40), lived at her brother's residence in Rajarampuri area.
Her brother had tied her with an iron chain and kept her locked in a room for the last two months.
After receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and broke open the lock of the room, and released the woman and admitted her to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje hospital.
Police have booked a case against Sarika's brother and his wife, and after investigation will arrested both of them.
