Raisen (MP), Nov. 28 -- An arrested rapist sustained a leg injury when police opened fire while he was trying to escape. Salman Khan, who allegedly raped a six-year-old in this district, was apprehended on Thursday night in Bhopal's Gandhinagar area following a tip-off.
The accused has been admitted to the Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal. He will be presented in a Goharganj court where a heavy force is being stationed. Police said that Khan attempted to flee while being brought to Goharganj. The attempt was made within a forest in Obedullaganj area. During interrogation, the accused claimed that he had come walking to Gandhinagar through the jungle.
