Saharanpur, April 22 -- Saharanpur Police apprehended a hardened criminal during a late-night encounter in the Teetro area, recovering illegal arms, ammunition, and Rs 50,000 in stolen cash.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Abhinandan, the incident took place during a routine checking operation on Jhinjhana Road.
Acting on a tip-off about a suspicious person armed with a pistol and planning a crime in a nearby orchard, the police team swiftly moved to the location.
As the police approached, the accused opened fire with the intent to attack the team and attempted to flee into the mango orchard.
Police personnel pursued him, but the accused again fired while taking cover behind a tree.
