Mangaluru, May 3 -- In a major political flashpoint, Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader's public defence of Mohammed Fazil's family in connection with the murder of Hindutva activist Suhas Shetty has been contradicted by Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, who confirmed the involvement of Fazil's brother in the murder case. Khader had on Friday told reporters in Bengaluru that he had spoken to Fazil's father and brothers, and that they had "no connection" with the killing of Shetty, who was hacked to death on Thursday night.
