Srinagar, April 29 -- Police in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir in coordination with the civil administration, demolished illegally constructed properties worth crores on state land in a major crackdown on drug trafficking.
Police said during the operation, multiple structures raised on state land at estate Sangam along National Highway were demolished.
These structures were being used as roadside eateries (dabbas/restaurants) and were found to be linked with persons involved in NDPS Act cases, police said.
Among the demolished properties was 'Kashmir Restaurant (Dabba)', owned by Gul Mohammad Mir and Bashir Ahmad Mir, residents of Donipora Sangam. Police said both are named in separate NDPS cases registered at police station Bijb...
