Mohali, Aug. 25 -- A tense shootout erupted between police and a suspect in the Kaduwa area under Kharar jurisdiction today, resulting in the suspect sustaining injuries to his leg.
The incident stems from an ongoing investigation into a recent Hyundai i20 car snatching reported in the region.
According to authorities, the operation was launched based on a tip-off regarding the whereabouts of the suspects involved in the car theft. Inspector Gabbbar Singh attempted to intercept the suspect, identified as Bhupendra Singh from Kunwa village.
In response, Bhupendra allegedly opened fire at the officer, prompting police to retaliate with gunfire that struck the suspect in the leg, leaving him wounded.
