Srinagar, Feb. 23 -- Police on Sunday detained the members of Jammu and Kashmir Handicapped Association who were protesting in Srinagar.

The specially abled persons holding banners and placards assembled at the press enclave on the bustling Residency road in Srinagar on Sunday were demanding among other things reservation for the handicapped people and a monthly pension of Rs 5000.

Talking to the media a member of the association said "We are hopeful that our issues would come up for discussion during the upcoming budget session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly".

He said the members are being forced to come out on the roads for their genuine demands as the government has failed to address the issues of the community post elections.
