Itanagar, May 16 -- In a concerted effort to combat illegal drug cultivation and peddling in the region, Arunachal Pradesh's Pakke Kessang District Police carried out a destruction drive of wild-grown cannabis at Sede village of the district on Friday.
Around 300 sq mtr areas of wild-grown cannabis plants were cut down and destroyed during the operation, conducted under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Tasi Darang.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Pijerang circle administration, Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris (village heads), Panchayat leaders, and personnel from the Range Forest Office (Wildlife), Pakke Kessang.
