Lucknow, March 31 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Monday accused the police of deliberately stopping him for about half an hour from going to Eidgah in the state capital Lucknow.
On the occasion of Eid, Akhilesh reached the Eidgah in Aishbagh and wished the members of the Muslim community. On this occasion, he expressed his objection to the heavy barricading on the roads leading to the Eidgah in Aishbagh.
He said, "I have been coming to the Eidgah continuously for a long time on the occasion of Eid. Today, the police deliberately stopped me, kept me there for half an hour. They let me go with great difficulty, and that too, only one vehicle. No officer had any answer to the reason for stopping me."
