Pune, July 31 -- In the wake of the arrest of former minister Eknath Khadse's son-in-law Pranjal Khewalkar during a private party, the Pune Police have intensified their vigilance on private gatherings, particularly in the upscale Khadi area.

Khewalkar, who is married to NCP Women's state President Rohini Khadse, was arrested along with six others during a raid at a private party on July 26. Police recovered liquor, hookahs, and narcotic substances at the scene, triggering a political uproar across Maharashtra.
