Srinagar, Oct. 9 -- Police today conducted a special drive to inspect SIM card vendors in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir as part of efforts to curb their misuse.
Police teams constituted at Police Station and Police Post levels conducted checks at multiple locations across the district, focusing on KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance, verification of documents during SIM issuance, and ensuring that no SIM is activated without valid identification and address proof.
Police said during the inspections, vendors were sensitized about their crucial role in preventing misuse of communication networks for unlawful activities.
