Bhubaneswar, Sept. 18 -- The Commissionerate Police today arrested Deepak Rout, a clerk posted in the city police office, for the murder of traffic constable Sanghamitra Sahu, whom he had married in court.
Deepak was produced in court and immediately suspended from service, City Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh said.
According to Singh, a financial dispute appeared to be the motive behind the crime. Sanghamitra had reportedly lent Rs 10 lakh to Deepak and was pressing him to repay the amount before they could formally solemnize their marriage through a social ceremony.
