Mumbai, May 12 -- In a major success for ongoing anti-insurgency operations in the state, the Gadchiroli Police have busted a Naxal camp near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border and recovered two weapons, several live rounds, Naxal literature, cordex wire and detonators following an exchange of fire, police official said here on Monday.
According to police, the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence received on Sunday afternoon, which indicated that the Bhamragad Dalam, an armed naxal unit, had set up a hideout near the newly opened Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Kawande.
Acting on the information, a team of around 200 C60 commandos, was mobilised by evening.
