Ch. Sambhajinagar, Jan. 8 -- Police have registered a case against 13 persons and 40-50 unidentified individuals for allegedly attacking and disrupting an election campaign rally of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, an official said on Thursday.
Police arrested six accused in connection with the incident that took place near Jinsi Chowk on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the First Information Report, the incident occurred around 1:15 PM on January 7 when the accused, allegedly led by Kaleem Qureshi, unlawfully assembled and blocked a foot march organised by AIMIM candidates Firoz Khan, Munshi Bhikan Sheikh, and Almas Ahmed Khan from Ward No. 14.
