Srinagar, Sept. 29 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police today apprehended a notorious fraudster and proclaimed offender from the Sopore sub-district, who had been evading arrest for years and allegedly swindled victims out of crores of rupees.
Police said Zubair Ahmad Ganie, alias Pina and Mansoor Ganie, a resident of Rohama Rafiabad, was wanted in multiple cases of fraud and cheating.
He was facing 19 non-bailable warrants issued by various courts across Kashmir, including Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar, and Kulgam.
A senior police officer said that since 2022, Ganie had carried out one of the most audacious frauds in the region by posing as a respectable trader and duping businessmen across J&K.
