Ranchi, Sept. 21 -- The Jharkhand Police have arrested eight individuals involved in vandalism and rioting in the Pandra police station area of Ranchi.

The disturbance erupted after a young man from Gumla district suffered critical injuries when he was struck by a trailer in Pandra. The victim was admitted to a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries late Saturday night. Enraged relatives and locals blocked the roads, set tires ablaze, and disrupted traffic.

Amid the chaos, some rioters entered the Pandra police station premises, damaging furniture, chairs, flowerpots, and police case files, hampering normal operations. Additional forces were called in to control the situation.
