Vijayawada, Nov. 18 -- The police arrested 27 Maoists, including 21 women, who were found taking shelter in a two-storey building at New Autonagar in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
In a separate operation, four more Maoists were arrested in Kakinada, bringing the total number of arrests to 31.
According to officials, 27 Maoists detained in Vijayawada consisted of 21 women and six men, all of whom had been hiding in a residential building in the New Autonagar area. The four individuals arrested in Kakinada were found in a house reportedly used as a temporary hideout.
