New Delhi, Sept. 20 -- Three members of the Gogi gang were arrested by a Rohini district police team following an encounter in Budh Vihar early this morning.
Police said a team attempting to apprehend five gang members came under fire. Two suspects sustained gunshot wounds while two others fled. Officers fired six rounds in retaliation.
The arrested accused have been identified as Lallu alias Ashroo, Irfan and Nitesh.
According to a senior police officer, a crack team from PS Budh Vihar had received specific intelligence about a planned attack on the residence of a prominent Gau Rakshak Dal member. The individual had announced a "Maha Sabha" over an earlier mob-lynching incident allegedly involving Lallu and his associates.
