Srinagar, Oct. 24 -- Police in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir today nabbed a man who allegedly used to pose as a Senior Superintendent of Police and dupe people.

Police said a suspicious individual was apprehended during routine checking by a naka party of Police Station Kokernag.

"The individual, identified as Mohammad Umer Mochi of Zalangam, was intercepted while carrying a bag. On noticing the police party, the suspect attempted to flee from the spot but was tactfully apprehended by the police personnel," Police said.

During the search of his bag, a police uniform bearing the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police was recovered, police said.
