Vijayawada, Sept. 21 -- YSRCP senior leader and former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy today alleged that work on the Polavaram project came to a halt due to mishandling by the then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking to the media, he claimed that the project's progress was only seen during the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime.
The former Minister slammed Naidu, stating that his "inefficiency and greed had dampened Polavaram project works." He claimed that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had to take firm steps to undo the damage. The Polavaram irrigation project, considered the "lifeline of Andhra Pradesh," is being constructed across the Godavari River.
The former Finance Minister accused Mr Naidu of spreading lies about the project. ...
