New Delhi/Shimla, July 30 -- Union Minister for Rural Development and Highways Kamlesh Paswan informed the Lok Sabha that under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), the central government aims to connect 25,000 villages by March 2029, as part of Phase-IV of the scheme.
Replying to a question raised by Kangra MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, the Minister said that so far, 8,38,611 km of rural roads have been sanctioned across the country, of which 7,83,304 km have already been completed.
In Himachal Pradesh, a total of 24,967.76 km road length has been approved under PMGSY, out of which 22,380.09 km has been completed, he added.
