Patna, Feb. 23 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bihar would prove to be immensely beneficial to farmers of the state and would accelerate the pace of development.

Sinha said here that Bihar was a state of agriculture-based economy and the release of Rs 22,000 crores under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to 9.8 crores farmers from Bhagalpur district of Bihar, would send ripples of cheers among them across the country. Since the launching of the scheme in 2019, 11.80 crore farmers have got the benefits and a total of Rs 3.5 lakh crores had been spent under the scheme so far, he added.
