New Delhi, Nov. 27 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Principal Secretary PK Mishra on Thursday lauded the Election Commission of India's century-old commitment to merit, fairness, and integrity, while also highlighting the evolving role of the union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in India's progress towards a developed nation.

Addressing the plenary session of UPSC's Shatabdi Sammelan Programme in New Delhi, Mishra paid tribute to the vision of the Constitution's framers and successive leaders who nurtured these key institutions.

"Over the past 100 years, UPSC has maintained dignity and credibility as one of India's most respected constitutional bodies," he said.
