New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit China to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, a major port city of Northern China, from August 31 to September 1.

The Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and several other leaders on the sidelines of the Summit. The Tianjin Summit is the 25th Heads of State meeting of the SCO.

Before travelling to China the Prime Minister will visit Japan on August 29 for talks with his Japanese counterpart Shigeru Ishiba. He will attend the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit on August 29-30 before flying to China.
