New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana today, marking a significant intervention in women's economic empowerment in Bihar.

In the scheme's first phase, Rs 10,000 will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across the state. This is aimed at facilitating self-employment and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

The initiative, approved by the Bihar Cabinet on August 29, has a total financial outlay of Rs 7,500 crore. The scheme is being implemented via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and seeks to boost income-generating activities among women, particularly those from economically weaker sections.
