Kolkata, Jan. 8 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a major Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally in Malda on January 17, party officials said on Thursday.

The Prime Minister is also expected to visit the district for an official programme during which he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate several Central government projects.

"The proposed political rally is likely to be held at Nityanandpur near Sahapur. Preparations are already underway to mobilise party leaders and supporters from booth to district levels across the Malda division," Party's, Malda South BJP organisational president Ajoy Ganguly said.

Gaguly also said that the party according to the requirement of the PMO has two more options.
