New Delhi, May 20 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke with new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and congratulated him on assuming office. PM also said the two nations stand united in the fight against terrorism.
In a post on X, the PM said:
"Spoke to Chancellor @_FriedrichMerz and congratulated him on assuming office.
"Reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthen the Strategic Partnership between India and Germany. Exchanged views on regional and global developments.
"We stand united in the fight against terrorism."
The PM had congratulated Merz earlier this month when he took over as Germany's 10th Chancellor.
