New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- In a key development amid the rising tensions with the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke on the phone with "my friend" President Vladimir Putin of Russia, during which they discussed Ukraine and reviewed the bilateral agenda. During the phone conversation, PM Modi "reiterated India's consistent position for peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict".The call comes days after US President Donald Trump imposed additional tariffs on India for its oil imports from Russia.
