Bhubaneswar, March 5 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new direction for India and is taking India on an accelerated drive to make it an economic powerhouse, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said on Tuesday.

Addressing the function at Chandikhol where Modi had inaugurated and dedicated several projects worth Rs.20,000 crores, the Chief Minister said India is now the 5th largest economy and marching forward to be the number three in a few years, Patnaik said.

The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister for his focus on the development of Odisha and said the state is emerging as a major manufacturing hub in Eastern India.
