Kanpur, April 23 -- After the incident of terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir in which 26 tourists were killed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed programme in Kanpur on April 24 has been cancelled.
The PM was scheduled to come here on Thursday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 20,000 crore.
Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana confirmed the cancellation of PM Modi's visit and said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit tomorrow has been cancelled. He will not come tomorrow."
Mahana had come to express condolences at the house of Shubham Dwivedi of Kanpur, who was killed in the Pahalgam attack. He met Shubham's family and consoled them.
