New Delhi, Dec. 23 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary, hailing him as a champion of farmers' rights and welfare.
"A grateful nation can never forget his contributions to nation-building," Modi said in a post on X.
Chaudhary Charan Singh, India's fifth Prime Minister, dedicated his life to the welfare of the underprivileged and the progress of agriculture, Modi noted. His efforts to strengthen rural India and empower the agricultural community continue to inspire the nation.
