Port Louis/New Delhi, March 11 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, paid homage at the Samadhis of Mauritius' founding father and first prime minister Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and Mauritian leader Sir Anerood Jugnauth, who served as both prime minister and President.
PM Modi laid wreaths at the samadhis at the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden. PM Modi along with PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam also planted a bael sapling at the botanical garden.
In a post on X, the PM said:
"Paid homage to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and Sir Anerood Jugnauth, two great leaders who have made indelible contributions to Mauritius' progress."
